Frequently Asked Questions
This is a condominiumized marina, where the boat slip and a share in the marina's common element are owned, not leased.
WHAT IS AN APPLICATION AND INFORMATION WORKSHEET?
This is simply our way of keeping in touch with you. It is a short, one-page document that asks for your name, address, boat name, emergency contact information, etc. We ask that all boaters, both those new to PHYC and those already in the PHYC family, fill out this form each spring and in the event any of your information changes.
DOES PRAIRIE HARBOR OFFER TRANSIENT SLIPS?
Absolutely. Call the office at (262)697-3200 to make your reservation.
CAN I RENT A SLIP FROM PRAIRIE HARBOR?
Yes, there are slips available for rental. Contact PHYC at (262)697-3200 for availability.
WHAT ARE COMMON ELEMENTS?
All of PHYC's real estate and property. The common elements are owned on a shared basis by the dockominium owners. Owners have exclusive use of the common areas. These include but are not limited to the clubhouse, pool, tennis courts, docks, grills, etc.
You will receive a Deed and a Title Insurance Policy to an upland parking space with the exclusive use and enjoyment of the corresponding boat slip. You will be issued an exclusive key fob that will grant you access to the marina and its facilities. You will also share in the ownership of all upland common elements.
WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTENANCE OF THE COMMON ELEMENTS?
As a member of a Condominium Association, you pay a monthly fee which includes facility management, channel maintenance, and a funded reserve for future major replacement and repairs. PHYC's daily operations and maintenance are professionally managed by Skipper Marine Development. At present, the Association chooses to bill its members twice a year.
CAN I COME SEE THE MARINA?
Of course! We welcome visitors. When you get to the front gate, call our office at (262)697-3200. We will meet with you, show you around the property, and answer any questions.
HOW DO I GET TO PRAIRIE HARBOR BY LAND?
Take I-94 to Russel Road, exit 1A.
Take Russel Road east to Sheridan Rd.
Turn left on Sheridan Rd.
Take Sheridan to 116th St. There is no stop sign or stop light for 116th St! It is just after Buoy Storage on the right. Look for the Wooden Nickel bar on the left at the corner.
Turn right on 116th St.
Take 116th St over the railroad tracks. The first right is 1st Ct.
Turn right on 1st Ct and follow it to the end. You will see the Prairie Harbor sign, and the marina behind it.
Turn left at the sign, and call the office for access to the front gate.
NOTE: Mapquest and those kinds of websites usually show our front entrance gate as being on Lakeshore Dr, as that is our mailing address. THIS IS NOT ACCURATE. That gate is strictly for emergency vehicles, and is not accessible by the public.
