PHYC 2011 Season Closing Date

September 27

Dear PHYC boater,

This year's season flew by, just like many before it. We hope you enjoyed the 2011 season with us at PHYC. Unfortunately, it's that time again where we must begin to winterize our facilities.

Prairie Harbor Yacht Club will be closing for the season on Monday, October 17th. We ask that all boats depart the harbor by that day so we may begin winterizing the harbor. Unless otherwise instructed, we will do a final pumpout and rinse on all boats the week leading to the harbor closing.

Many of you have jetports, jet ski floats, or floating docks in the marina. If you plan to leave them in the water for the winter, please unhinge the device from the dock and/or unscrew the pilings from the bottom, then moor it to the dock with lines as you would a boat. Several of the docks may be "rafted" together to simplify mooring. This is necessary to avoid damage to your float and the docks.

Please remove water hoses, water filters, power cords, flower pots, umbrellas and all other personal items from the common areas to avoid any damage that might occur during the winter months.

Please do not leave waste oil, full used oil filters and batteries on PHYC property. These items need to properly disposed of and we do not have any waste oil containers on site. If you do not have an appropriate facility to dispose of this waste or have any questions on the disposal of used oil, please contact us at 262.697.3200. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Your staff of Jade, Kyle, Jack, Heather and I wish you a healthful and pleasant winter, and we look forward to seeing you next spring!
